Our Spiritual needs are often overlooked and ignored. To lead a thriving and happy life, all aspects need to be taken care of properly. First things first, what even is Spiritual health?
Spiritual Wellbeing
Often influenced by our ideologies, spirituality holds different meanings for different individuals. For you maybe spirituality is equivalent to religion and culture. But that doesn’t mean others think the same for some it might mean connecting with nature, art or maybe you think it’s related to your inner self. Ultimately it’s anything that makes you feel good and invokes sacredness.
Spirituality is a personal ritual. No matter, how you choose to go about it, the end purpose is to achieve something you desire, a deeper connection, purpose, or happiness.
Spiritual Self-Care
Spiritual self-care is any practice that helps you connect to the real you. It's enlightening, exhilarating, and inspiring but mostly it feels right. This leads to introspection and results in clarity and comfort.
A spiritual self-care ritual encourages peace of mind and leaves space to take steps to make changes for good. If Spirituality is digressing, there are ways to enliven it. Not sure where to start, here are a few ways-
Take-up Yoga- Stress, tension, and problems are a part of our daily routine. Bliss and peace of mind are hard to find, the only way to relax your mind is through meditation. In today’s lifestyle, yoga is a holistic approach to staying fit and physically strong.
Mindful Walking- Walking is underrated. While all forms of physical exercise are good for you, walking allows you to push pause and live in the moment. The feeling of wind in your face, pavement under your feet, and clear blue skies ground and liven your senses in ways that will surprise you.
Read more often- It might sound really simple, but reading can change your perspective. The information we are exposed to continuously affects our thought process. Sometimes this makes it hard to feel inspired or encouraged. Make it a habit to fill your free hours with books that inspire and liven your spirit. Starting your day by reading a few pages of a nice book might make all the difference in your life.
Embrace Nature- Take some time out to bask in the healing powers of nature. Stop, take a moment to capture all the beauty that surrounds you. The sound of waves crashing against the shore, and the sweet scents of flowers make your senses come alive and help you disconnect.
Live in the Moment- What you choose to do today matters. You can’t control the future nor can you change the past, so there is no sense in worrying about them. Focus on the now, to live a happy and fulfilled life. In a quest to control the future don’t miss out on the precious moments of today.
Unplug from Tech- Technology has no doubt made our lives easier and is a blessing. But it is also quite distracting, how many times do we pick up our phones to check a message? Thousands of times a day, this robs us of experiencing a richer life. Detox from technology is a real thing, it benefits us in many forms like increased creativity, better sleep enhanced sense of self, etc.
Think Positive- Our mind is very powerful. What we think affects our whole being. One of the main factors that contribute to stress today is overthinking.
The best way to stay happy is to let go of the negativity and think positive things.
Forgive and let go- Holding grudges is easier and far more tempting but it just drains your energy and affects your peace of mind. Life is far too short so focus on yourself and create a life you want to.
